- This is the 11th edition of WPC.
- Each country is invited to submit 3 images from 10 categories for a total of 30 images: Commercial, Illustration, Nature/Wildlife,
Nature/Landscape, Portrait Natural, Portrait Illustrative, Reportage/Photojournalism, Sports, Wedding Open and Wedding Reportage - For 2025 international judging took place in November 2024. Each participating country sends one judge. For Canada Mr. Michael Cooper from Ontario was chosen.
- The top 10 images from each category as well as a Best of Nations image for each country participating was announced on December 17, 2024. Best of Nations images are the highest scoring images of that country. Approximately 100 photographers.
- Medals will be awarded during a ceremony to be held in Quito Ecuador, March 20, 2025. This takes place during the photographic event: Expo Zero Latitude
- Each top ten ranking and medal earns the country points towards winning the cup.
- In 2024 Canada place 3rd on the world stage in Texas.
- Team Canada is run by a small volunteer committee and supported by several Canadian Photographic Agencies: PPOC Professional Photographers of Canada, NPAC News Photographers Association of Canada, CAPA Canadian Association of Photographic Arts & CAPIC Canadian Association of Professional Image Creators
